Introduction

The University of Illinois at Chicago was formed by the 1982 consolidation of two campuses: the University of Illinois at the Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. Programs are offered through the Colleges of Architecture and the Arts, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences,Urban Planning and Public Administration and the Jane Addams School of Social Work. UIC is a major center for medical education and research for Illinois and the nation, with health-care-related colleges in Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Phramacy, Public Health, and the Applied Health Sciences.
